Another Abney Park workshop piece. I was researching to get inspiration for a carving and looked in a book on Roman Art and Architecture and discovered from a photo description the mythological name of the human mother of Romulus and Remus, Rhea Silvia! As it is claimed that Rome was founded by Romulus and I have been taught to draw Roman lettering as exampled on the Trajan Column plaque in Rome, I thought her name was worthy of mention!
