Hand drawn and carved raised lettering. I continued carving this piece into 2023. One part of this idea is dedicated to the passing of our family's last cat! TWO of our cats died in 2022 and when Mafi, the last to die, went, I was devastated. I was thinking about the change that occurs between life and death. The other significance to me for this piece is the number of letters used: 4,6,4,6. These numbers are part of my philosophy, see About page, and accounted by 4 or 6 concepts to an individual or object at a given time. Those concepts are Devil, Death, Time, Fate, God and Life. In my mind an individual or object is always at least four: Death, Time, Fate and Life, and sometimes, at different times in their lives, six, with the addition of the concepts Devil and God. Essentially I believe most individuals and objects are always those six concepts but it really depends on awareness and what is at the tip of one's or a group's consciousness.
